Description

Provides operational and post closing support to Business Lending Loan Closers by ensuring loan files are accurately boarded, booked, and audited after funding. Responsible for post closing quality control, invoice tracking, booking accuracy, and compliance with MACU policies and regulatory requirements. Serves as a control function to validate that closed business loans are properly documented, recorded, and maintained throughout the post closing lifecycle.

To be effective, an individual must be able to perform each job duty successfully.

  • Support Business Loan Closers throughout the business lending closing process by assisting with documentation, funding coordination, and post‑closing follow‑up activities.
  • Perform post‑closing quality control reviews to ensure business loans are accurately boarded, booked, and documented in accordance with approval terms, company policy, and SBA SOP (when applicable).
  • Track, review, and reconcile closing‑related invoices and fees, as well as borrower good faith deposit funds, to ensure accuracy, proper approval, and timely payment.
  • Understand and demonstrate a high level of written communication relating to loan file documentation, memorandums, and all forms of written communication.
  • Validate booking accuracy for business loans, including loan terms, rates, collateral, guarantors, and required system setup, and assist in resolving discrepancies.
  • Communicate with commercial title companies to clear exceptions and other collateral issues to ensure MACU has appropriate lien positions on all real estate collateral. As well as ensure all post-closing title polices and recorded documents are received by MACU
  • Complete UCC filings and post searches to ensure MACU has appropriate lien positions on all UCC collateral with approved UCC descriptive language.
  • Review approved credit memos and loan files to ensure all post‑closing conditions and requirements have been satisfied.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and third parties while demonstrating strong mutual trust and respect—including business loan officers, underwriters, title companies, attorneys, insurance agents, and vendors—to obtain and clear outstanding post‑closing documentation.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and audit‑ready business loan files, ensuring all required documentation is properly stored and organized.
  • Track and clear post‑closing exceptions, ticklers, and trailing documents within required timeframes.
  • Ensure loan ticklers are properly documented and maintained.
  • Track and clear all post-closing documentation when applicable.
  • Assist with booking corrections and other administrative actions as assigned.
  • Support wire requests, funding verification, and related closing controls in accordance with established business lending procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain post‑closing, booking, and quality control reports related to business lending activity.
  • Provide high‑quality internal and external customer service related to business lending closings and post‑closing activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business lending operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • General understanding of business lending loan documentation and post‑closing processes preferred.
  • Working knowledge of loan boarding, booking, and post‑closing quality control standards preferred.
  • Ability to review business loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple business loan files and competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Demonstrated personal and professional integrity.

Experience

  • One year of loan closing or loan operations experience in a business lending environment preferred.

Education

  • High school diploma or related business lending experience.

Managerial Responsibility

  • No supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
