Description

The Product Manager, Direct Consumer Lending, is responsible for the strategy, design, and ongoing management of products and capabilities supporting Consumer Lending at Mountain America Credit Union.

SCHEDULE

  • Define and execute product strategy and roadmap aligned to consumer lending and enterprise priorities.
  • Own the full product lifecycle from discovery and business case development through delivery and ongoing optimization.
  • Translate consumer, business, and operational needs into clear product requirements, user stories, and prioritized backlogs.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Consumer Lending, Indirect Lending, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Technology, and Data teams to deliver solutions.
  • Collaborate with Data and Analytics teams to define data requirements, validate insights, and enable effective reporting.
  • Leverage data analytics tools and dashboards to assess loan performance, member behavior, credit trends, and operational efficiency.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators related to loan growth, portfolio quality, utilization, cycle times, and risk performance.
  • Prioritize enhancements that improve member experience, digital adoption, approval rates, and operational scalability.
  • Ensure product alignment with consumer lending regulations, internal policies, credit risk frameworks, and compliance standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the lending lifecycle including application, underwriting, funding, servicing, and collections of touchpoints.
  • Communicate product roadmap, priorities, and performance clearly to stakeholders and senior leadership.

Experience

  • 6 years of experience in product management with at least 3 years owning or supporting product lifecycle activities including strategy, delivery, and performance optimization.
    • Experience working with consumer loan products such as auto, personal, credit card, or home equity lending – preferred.
  • Experience using data, reporting, and analytics to inform product decisions, measure outcomes, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, technology, or related field OR three additional years combined experience in a progressive product management setting.

Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

  • Certified Product Manager Certification preferred.

Computer and Technology Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to automate tasks and generate executive-level insights.
  • Fluent in using data visualization and reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for performance tracking and decision support.
  • Familiarity with consumer lending systems, loan origination systems (LOS), servicing platforms, and digital lending tools.
  • Experience leveraging data analytics and emerging technologies (including AI-enabled tools) to enhance product performance and member insights.
  • Strong ability to interpret data across multiple systems, including cloud-based platforms and APIs.
  • Working knowledge of Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) and process documentation tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart).

Language Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to clearly express ideas, methodology, results and recommendations verbally, in writing and through insightful reports and graphic illustrations
  • Demonstrated ability to document outcomes and present information in a manner appropriate for key stakeholders and all levels of the organization.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Solid understanding of product management practices, including product lifecycle, delivery, and continuous optimization.
  • Working knowledge of business banking, lending products, and related systems (preferred).
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear product requirements, user stories, and actionable priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and analytics to inform decision-making, measure outcomes, and drive product improvements.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, dashboards, or visualization platforms) with the ability to interpret, validate, and apply data insights.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders across varying levels, teams, and communication styles.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, balance competing demands, and execute with a high degree of independence.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset to identify opportunities, improve processes, and enhance efficiency.
  • Understanding performance measurement, including defining and tracking KPIs, tied to growth, utilization, efficiency, and member experience.
  • Ability to contribute to product outcomes that support business growth, operational effectiveness, and service delivery.
