Description

Lending Training Assistant Manager helps lead and manage training programs for all areas of Lending and Servicing. Collaborates with lending training manager and business units to identify business needs and incorporates them into training programs. Helps builds strategic plans to ensure curriculum, content, and programs align with MACU’s strategic direction.

SCHEDULE

Full Time

To be effective, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty successfully:

  • Works with manager and lending leadership to determine training and development needs
  • Consults with subject matter experts and department managers of internal team and supporting areas to ensure training program content is accurate, effectively communicated, and objectives met
  • Understands the loan lifecycle of origination, processing, underwriting, and closing, as well as lending programs, guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Creates and maintains new hire and continuous education training programs for all areas of lending and servicing
  • Continuously reviews programs and adapts to changing needs of business units and the regulatory environment
  • Communicates process, guideline, and regulatory changes to lending teams
  • Monitors, reviews, and reports on progress of participants through daily check-ins, surveys and discussions with key managers in order to be strategic in development direction
  • Identifies gaps and areas of improvement within training programs
  • Leads training meetings both in-person and virtually
  • Encourages collaboration among the teams by breaking down silos, gaining trust and support of others, and identifying opportunities for cross-functional training
  • Helps maintain lending policies and procedures on the Knowledge Center
  • Mentors and guides training team members to help further develop their knowledge and training techniques, and facilitate trainings with confidence and credibility
  • Provides daily support for team members and act as a continuous resource of lending knowledge
  • Helps team members acquire and maintain the necessary skills and confidence to excel in their field and provide exceptional member service
  • Collaborates with course designers ensuring classes are consistent in design, including presentation materials, participant materials, facilitator materials, etc.
  • Collaborates with manager to identify trends in monthly loan audits to address areas of needed improvement
  • Utilizes technology to enhance training programs, track projects, and create reporting
  • Collaborate with Lending Technology and leadership to test and support new technology and process enhancements
  • Models the MACU way behaviors by exhibiting mutual trust and respect, honesty and integrity, professionalism, and accountability
  • Performs other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

Experience

  • 5 years professional experience in a progressive lending or financial setting
  • 3 years professional experience in training and development
  • 2 years experience leading teams in a senior, lead, or management role
  • Content and Curriculum Development experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Adult-learning theory and principles preferred

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in business, organizational development or related field (education will be verified); OR three additional combined years of progressive experience in a lending, training, or talent development environment.

Managerial Responsibility

  • Oversees, coordinates, and reviews the work of assigned staff
  • Has responsibilities that are direct or through work leaders or assistants typically with a subordinate group of 2-10 employees.
  • Recommends candidates for employment, conducts performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff, and applies company policy.

Computer/Office Equipment Skills

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Demonstrated experience with Symitar and LOS systems preferred

Language Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to clearly express ideas, methodology, results and recommendations verbally, in writing and through insightful reports and graphic illustrations
  • Demonstrated ability to document outcomes and present information in a manner appropriate for key stakeholders and all levels of the organization.
