Description

The Director of Lending & Operational Support is a forward-thinking position that supports the planning, development, and implementation of lending technology systems, training programs, and credit reporting processes for all lending teams. This role oversees projects and process improvements to ensure business goals and objectives are met and are compliant with policy and procedures. This role should demonstrate a strategic mindset, excellent leadership and communication skills, considerable knowledge of principles and practices for all lending areas, and a passion for the lending and credit union industry.

SCHEDULE

  • Oversee the implementation and management of all lending technology systems, processes and procedures. Ensure systems are efficient, secure, user-friendly, accurate, and tied to regulatory requirements.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and advancements in lending technology.
  • Establish and maintain change control standards for all lending technology processes.
  • Support lending teams to ensure they work in accordance with approved MACU operating policies, procedures, practices and methods; streamline best practices across lending teams.
  • Work closely with the Director of Operational Compliance to analyze emerging lending regulatory and compliance changes to implement updates to technology and training process and procedure solutions to ensure MACU compliance.
  • Evaluate and analyze reports and trends within the lending teams to determine support and needs and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain and develop comprehensive training and support programs for lending teams to ensure proficiency in the use of lending technology and thorough knowledge of our lending products and services.
  • Create, implement and oversee lending compliance training programs and ensure they comply with local, state and federal lending requirements and regulations.
  • Direct the LOS training team to effectively facilitate trainings and use AAA to respond to lending team inquiries regarding guidelines, file structuring, and responding to post-close file audits.
  • Consult and assist on lending related audits such as CFPB, NCUA, HUD, MERS, etc.
  • Manage credit analysis and reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of all credit information and disputes. Maintain compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Manage and review all lending disclosures; establish a process to track changes and ensure to maintain compliance for all disclosures.
  • Build and maintain complaint management program for 1st line business units.
  • Manage and review all complaints, seeing through from origination to resolution, related to lending and operational areas.
  • Identify root issues and work with business units to track and remediate member complaints.
  • Monitor trends and create reporting and tracking for member complaint data.
  • Provide support to lending and operational business units through technology, training, compliance, monitoring fair lending, reviewing complaints, and analyzing QA and QC data.
  • Identify best practices to provide continuous guidance and support to internal team members in the operational business units.
  • Establish and implement team performance goals for direct reports to support departmental needs and individual development progress. Continuously develop team members by providing structured, ongoing coaching and mentoring.
  • Provide leadership and direction to team members by fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Experience

8 years of experience in lending, credit administration, technology, or project management in a financial setting

3 years of leadership experience – preferably over medium to large teams. 5 years of leadership experience is preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in business, finance, technology, or related field or an additional 3 years combined experience in a progressive financial, technology, or lending setting.

Computer/Office Equipment Skills

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience with analytical and reporting software preferred
  • Experience with lending origination systems, credit systems, and training software’s preferred

Language Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to clearly express ideas, methodology, results and recommendations verbally, in writing and through insightful reports and graphic illustrations
  • Demonstrated ability to document outcomes and present information in a manner appropriate for key stakeholders and all levels of the organization.

  • Self-starter with strong organization and time management skills and the ability to work productively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and timelines.

  • Data analytics and data validation skills and proficiency in business data analysis. Demonstrated ability to apply statistical analysis to complex business problems.
  • Manage projects to ensure they are in line with internal practices and are compliant.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others; produces exceptional team results.
